I had a good training ride out yesterday along canal toe paths and quite lanes from south Lancaster to North Penrith 96.5 Km’s ( 60 miles ) with over 3,500 feet of hill climbing including going over Shap Fell. The Shap cafe was closed so I had a bag of chips with Chippy owner “Rags”who’s friend had been badly effected by cancer, who then did a 200 mile charity bike ride around the Lakes to raise funds for Bowel Cancer.

Its great to have Abi in the cycling team and all kitted out ready to do LeScot bike ride from the tip of Cornwall all the way to the Scottish Boarder and beyond to Lockerbie to clock up 1019 km (633 miles) for Bowel Cancer UK. Abi has been out training this week around the Lake District and has been pleased to have a new back cassette fitted to her bike with bigger cogs that made it easier going up the super steep hill called Red Bank just outside Grasmere.

Its great to have Chris an old and really close friend of Cinders in our LeScot cycling team of three. Chris has been busy training around the hilly Yorkshire Wolds this week getting ready to cycle from the tip or Cornwall at Landsend up as far as Gretna Green on the Scottish boarder to clock up 993km (617miles) for Bowel Cancer UK.

Andrew & Abi met up this weekend to try out our bikes with the Bowel Cancer UK cycling jerseys.

This is my bike set up for LeScot & LeJog on my trusted Mason steel framed touring bike co designed and hand built with Cinders. For the 1798 km (1117 mile) bike ride. I will just have a bike packing saddle bag with spare dry cloths in and an handle bar bag with a bike tool kit, spare inner tubes, phone and snacks.
